As Pireks Brass Alloys, we participated in the 2nd National Copper Summit, organized by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry in cooperation with IDDMIB, Kocaeli Chamber of Industry and Istanbul Technical University, held at ITU Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.

The Summit addressed key topics including supply–demand and price dynamics in Turkish and global copper markets, the impact of energy and geopolitical developments, green transformation, sustainability, low-carbon production technologies and export potential. The importance of university–industry collaboration, R&D and innovation investments, and increasing value-added production for strengthening the sector’s competitiveness was strongly emphasized.

At a time when copper prices have reached record levels of around USD 14,500 and daily fluctuations have occasionally expanded to extraordinary ranges of USD 1,500, coming together as an industry has become more critical than ever. In such a highly volatile and unique market environment, exchanging insights and developing a common strategic perspective is essential.

Bringing together representatives from public institutions, academia and the private sector, the Summit provided a valuable platform to evaluate current risks and shape future strategies collectively.
